PlanetDomain Launches SMS Notifications - Available to ALL Private Label Resellers

PlanetDomain is proud to announce the launch of it's SMS Notification system, which can be used to deliver Domain Renewal and expiry notices right to your customer's mobile phone.

The system allows existing customers to buy SMS credits (in minimum blocks of 10 credits) which they can assign to their domain to deliver a domain "expiry notice" via sms on the day of the domain's expiration or a domain "renewal notice" which is sent 30 days before the domain expires.
This ensures customers receive alerts on their mobile phone and are less likely to overlook the notice as spam or miss it in their email inbox.

Customers purchasing a new domain are able to assign notices at an extra fee (no minimum number of credits) during the domain registration process.

Customers may also use available credit to send SMS notices to any other mobile phone in the world with the "Send to anyone feature"

Note: this system is currently only available in English, however resellers who deal in other languages should contact us if they wish to translate the SMS service into their native language

An exclusive service, and an Australian first

PlanetDomain is the first Australian registrar to offer such a service, with 99% coverage to Australian Cell/Mobile phones and telephone carriers and around 90% Global coverage including the UK, USA, Canada and most Asian and European locations.

How the system works

The system is available to all Private Label resellers and must be activated before you can offer it to your clients. Once activated, the registration process is as follows:

Assigning notices for New Domain registrations

During the process of registering a new domain, your customers can elect to set their domain expiry and/or renewal notices

There is no need to buy blocks of credits when customers buy this service alongside a new domain registration

Customers can choose to buy renewal or expiry notices or both for one or all of their new domains they're registering

Assigning notices for Existing Domain Registrations

Customers who already have domains registered with you may nominate renewal and expiry notices as follows

Customer accesses your reseller site at the URL for the SMS product page on your reseller site (located at /newdnr/sms/ example: http://www.resellername.com/newdnw/sms/)

Customers can choose to buy renewal or expiry notices or both for one or all of their new domains they're registering

This system has been live with PlanetDomain's direct client base, and is now available to all private label resellers and reseller's customers for a small fee per message.

Activating SMS Notifications for your reseller account

In order to provide the SMS notifications system to your customers, you must activate an SMS account (this will also allow you to send SMS notices to your customers if you like).

Resellers can activate the SMS System via their admin panel as follows:

Go into the 'Edit Preferences section

Next the option to 'Sell SMS', select "Yes", then click change

Go into the menus"Product Administration" -> "Manage SMS" -> "View My Reseller Account"

Enter all the required details including:

country code - (ie 61 for Australia)

phone number - (ie 402345xxx)

Time Zone ie: Australia GMT+11

Preferred Delivery Time

Wait for the activation message to be delivered to your mobile phone to Activate the account.

Now you need to set your wholesale price for SMS which can be set via the "Set Other Product Pricing" option in the admin panel

Once your account is active, your customers may begin using the service.

Pricing

Like all products and services sold via our reseller channel, PlanetDomain sets a wholesale price, and resellers are able to set their own retail pricing, which is the price the reseller's customer pays for the service.

SMS Credits (that is a single message or single renewal or single expiry notice) are sold to resellers at a wholesale fee of 30c USD not inclusive of Australian Goods and Services tax. You may set your retail rate at whatever you like.

Adding SMS product to your menu

You need to now link to the SMS function which is located at resellerurl.com/newdnr/sms/

Additional functions

In order to manage your customer's account, there is a "Manage Customer's account" setion in the SMS management area of the admin panel which allows you to add credit to a customers account (the wholesale rate will be charged against your reselle balance to do this) change your customer's phone number and account status.

Additional Options for resellers

Resellers can also use our SMS system to send notifications to customers In order to do this, you must:

Add credit, this can be charged against your reseller balance at the wholesale rate

Use the "Send batch SMS" function in the admin panel to send SMS notices to your customer (each message sent to a customer will be charged at the wholesale rate)
